Our Background

The Way Christian Fellowship began back in 1990 with just two couples and their children worshipping the Lord together in the home of Gordon and Gill Tanner.  With the growth in numbers over the years, there have been a few moves, but the church family has been firmly settled in Downs Close, the former Magistrates Court building, since 2000.

The property provides a comfortable meeting area, a café with well-equipped kitchen, office/lounge/ministry room, children’s room and storage.  In addition to a large car parking area, we also have a developing garden in which to relax and, of course, this is ideal for summer barbecues.

We are an ICHTHUS-linked Church

Ichthus Christian Fellowship was founded in 1974 under the leadership of Roger and Faith Forster.  They began with the mandate from God to evangelise London and the nations by planting churches of Christ-exalting, Bible-loving believers committed to the Lord Jesus, to His mission and to one another.

By 1982 they had grown from 14 people to around 400 and two new congregations were being planted.  Since then, other congregations have been established right across London and Kent, and many other churches in the UK and Europe, like us, are linked with them.  They also have a thriving overseas missions’ movement with people working in many nations, with a special focus on the least evangelised nations of the world.
